I’ve had many of my traditional ‘bricks & mortar’ clients question whether Facebook can really help them given, what they really want, is more customers & sales in their physical location. I believe FACEBOOK PLACES is the answer!
Facebook only hours ago formally released it’s newly upgraded PLACES and DEALS (it’s just in the USA to start with but it will be rolling out globally very soon). This is a GAME CHANGER and here’s why!
We all love to ‘bag a bargain’, not next week or month, but right now! Imagine while you’re looking for a new restaurant to try for dinner with some friends you could see all the special ‘deals’ from all the restaurants in your suburb all on your phone?
Or what about, being rewarded for coming back to your local bakery each day, with your friends to buy your loaves of bread?
You’ll see a few different types of Deals: individual deals for a discount, free merchandise or other reward; friend deals where you and your friends claim an offer together; loyalty deals for being a frequent visitor to a place; and charity deals where businesses pledge to donate to a cause when you check in.
Starting today in the USA, businesses will be able to offer great deals when you check in to their place on Facebook via Places. How it works is you check into Places, on your smart phone and up will pop the ‘deals’ for that store and you just show the shop assistant and receive your deal, discount offer. How cool is that!

I’ll keep you posted on when this will be released in other countries but for now, start brainstorming ways that Places and Deals could take your business and brand to an entire new level.
